three terrific arts events GEORGETOWN Y Congratulations All the effort you put into the Gala Art Auction Friday was worthwhile for the public who participated Hopefully the will have felt some monetary worth as well A beautiful selection of several prints sculpted works a few oils and an intriguing three dimensional woven as well as a collectors comer featuring Picasso Grant Hill man Alice and Seidman works were presented for auction It was interesting to note that a entitled River Edge by our local artist Jack Re id fetched one of the highest prices Joan Mustard a resident of Georgetown showed her original oil Yosemite National Park which sold Local artist Day showed two water colors which now belong to anothers collection Shirley Den lies original oil Farm Scene also passed hands at a very high price Art work by Canadian artists captured the public interest and several sold The should be commended for bringing this opportunity to purchase international works of art to Hills residents However perhaps another time more original work could be shown to satisfy a wider scope of taste for art collection This event and the public support given Is an Indication of
