honor the citizens who have provided assistance to the police force over the past year and to present long service awards to ten police officers with a total of years of service In various- police departments Part of Police Week the ceremony saw three Halton Hilts men presented with civilian citations although only one of the men was present to accept the citation Kevin Harrison of received a citation for assist the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident Mr Harrison who is an ambulance driver was offduty at the time but stopped at the scene of a motor vehicle accident and assisted two injured youths providing first aid Mr Harrison s actions may have saved the life of one of the Injured youths LOCAL BURGLARY Flmer of Georgetown assisted Sgt Jason Field In the apprehension of a suspect in a burglary in progress at the Union Gas company office In Georgetown Mr Somer scene and the suspect fled he assisted Sgt Field in pursuing and apprehending the man Wilfred Turner of George town as awarded a civilian citation for his assistance in apprehending two suspects in a burglary in progress Constable Scott Prlngle responded to a report of a burglary In progress and met Mr Turner
