imz A word from Mayor Pomeroy Thanks for your support Dear Hockey Fans I would like to take this opportunity to thank all you good people for turning out Friday Saturday and Sunday to support the Raiders Everyone is well aware that for several years the Raiders have tried very hard to progress along the Hardy Cup trail I suppose it really started 1968 when the present Raider group was formed but in truth it really started after the 1972 0 H A championship The Raiders during the next three years tried their best to get past the preliminary rounds of A H A playoffs but to no avail In the spring of the Raiders beat the 0 H A champs and the Q1HF champs to become qualified to play the Tigers for the Eastern Canadian Championship They lost three games to ml Since then the Raiders have either failed to get out of the O H A or failed to beat the N O H A champs This year team is the climax of at least two years work and we all have high expectations for the team I realize that everyone has become a little bored or disenchanted with watching the Raiders win at home against their league opponents but unless the planning was com early there is no way that the team would be competing for the O A cham Once again thanks to all the fans and businesses that have supported the Raiders present and past Hope to see you all at the rink Yours truly Bob Hooper Raider President THE HARDY CUP Good Luck in The Hardy Cup Ontario Ltd Realtor 170 Guelph Street Georgetown 8770173
