third straight of attending the meet The the meet was the Chlcopee Ski Resort and the surrounding terrain was put to full use The courses at are classic Ihemselv as all six divisions of competitors were lo run up an extre mely long and incredibly steep ski hill as part of their course The end of the race had runners coming down part of the same hill turning 180 degrees and ascending part of the hill a second lime turning again for the rest of the descent down the hill a sharp 90 degree turn to the right at the foot of the hill and a slight uphill grade to the finish line The courses look the runners on roads through fields along bicycle paths up and down ski trails and through the woods era had to go through a space of about two and a half feet between the ground and the bottom of a fence while going up hill through the woods Approximately 1200 runners competed and an ambulance was present to assist those unable to complete the race due to fatigue from attempting to ascend the ski hilt
