Milton Sunday in a losing effort Coach Smulders says the will have to PLAYER PROFILE Brad McMeekin Because a team leader has to set an example it t surprising that Brad led the Gemmls out of the doldrums last Sunday night when they were down Captain McMeekin started the Gemini drive back to respectability by setting up forward Dave at Milton blue line for a goal Then McMeekin himself brought the puck up to the Steamers end and slapped a shot past Milton Paolo from the to narrow the lead to The Georgetown native said after the game that last year wosn his best year as a Gemini because he took too many penalties Now wearing the captains C McMeekin says he has to set an example by staying away from the penalty box It s also important for the 19year old third year veteran to get the guys last two periods he said Last year the team get goals when they needed them but that has changed In 1382 ho said The are all quite young but Brad is Impressed at how well they have been throwing their weight around It takes a while to get used to a new defensive partner and sometimes com muni cat ions between a goalie rider such as screening him takes time to work out said Brad works full time at Canadian Tire In In the parts department He d like to finish up his remaining year of Junior- B eligibility as a Gemini then give the Georgetown Raiders a try His personal goals in the iate future are to earn a spot on the Junior Miracle Mart allstar rosier while he hopes from a team stand nt in the Gemlnis can crack the lop fourth or fifth in the league keep working on their positional play coming out of their own end He would also like to sec Georgetown force the opposition constantly while in their territory In both losses ders says the team Just wasn menially prepared in the initial stages
