the tour For further information con tact Herald In an unusual show of common concern repre sentatives of six George town area churches have met to form a local Ten Days for World Develop ment committee Such groups already exist Acton Brampton and BO other towns across Canada but until now overseas aid development was supp orted by each George town church individually through Hi own outreach program Ten Days is a education pro gram sponsored by the Presbyterian Lutheran United Roman Catholic Anglican and Mennonite Churches of Canada forming the acronym which att to press home to Canadians the needs and hopes of the people or the developing world II is not a fund raising project although Individ ual churches raise funds for overseas development In areas of Interest to them Formed about ten years ago Ten Days has focused on various themes during ten spec days each winter most notably Food Facts and Food Myths Study groups dispelled a number of myths about food production and for aid For example it was learned that every country on earth could feed its own people if Ihe means of production were fairly distributed The local churches who will now work together on Ten Days projects are St Georges Anglican Holy Cross Roman Catholic St Andrew United Nerval United St John United of Georgetown and Glen Williams and Georgetown Christian Reformed Church The group
