romantically As the soap opera progresses Vivien tape recorder slung over her shoulder composes chapter after chapter of Nurse Jane adventures in Hawaii Fantasizing herself to be Nurse Jane she trans forms the reality of the Chlsholm home into a playground of adventure for Nurse Jane and the continental Edgar Sterling POKING FUN Developments lead a troop of characters each caught up In their self- importance to descend on the ia Bridlepath household Mr Is poking fun at the Toronto trendies lost in their wish ful fantasies to be who theyaren t From a dermatologist John Day wearing a nylon stocking on his face to a Harlequin edit or and bridge fiend Pot Joynea to a 25year old foster child Rod Cook to a United Church Ob server Journalist Karen Mulligan the trendies are mocked and their fantasies held up for our humor The Georgetown Little Theatre cast directed by Ron put on a fine performance with a strong showing by Fern and Connie Both women have clear loud voices easy to follow In terms of move ments the actors flowed with their lines and werent stilted The only difficulty with the play occurred when the number of characters on stage Increased in act two When the stage became crowded It seemed that suddenly the timing got out of control Action became a little too for the audi to bo able to follow what was being said clearly and easily They were unable to appreciate fully the exposure of the secret relationships between the characters Perhaps the metron in act two can be set at a slower pace to give the audience a chance to breathe and digest Designed by David Cllf ton the ploys one was tastefully decorated with doorways to make it a roomy home However tor anyone who has driven past the spaci ous homes on the Bridle path the living room might not have been ritzy enough Perhaps the play deserved elegance rather than comfort CANADIAN ODEON THEATRES A GEORGETOWN 3 Vivien Bliss Fern recites another passage Into her tape recorder plunging her Harlequin
