Group lessons new to skaters This year junior members of the George town Figure Skating Club will be introduced to the CANSKATE pro gram which will revo lutionize figure skating in Canada These new group lesson programs make skating more enjoyable and less expensive Youngsters first join program at their local figure skat ing club as Its inexpensive and lots of fun Skaters are encouraged to partici pate at their own interest and skill level Badges are earned when skaters are able to perform skating skills to a desired performance level Skaters are assessed on a day to day basis by professio nal coaches Popular music warmup cises games and group lessons all contribute to a learning environment that is relaxed and enjoyable The Georgetown Figure Skating Club offers the program for a 23week session Skaters will skate one hour on Wed nesday and one hour on Friday In each of the sessions there will be a 15minute group lesson with a professional coach a warm up stroking games and warmdown with junior coaches The cost of the week enrollment Is DO which includes the minute group lessons By Join the George town Figure Skating Club you not only get the benefit of skating two hours per week at a cost of an hour but you also have social activities such as the Junior Olympics day Christmas Party val every other year and Club Competition These extra activities are not available through other Georgetown Figure Skating Club Is very fortunate ito have top coaches who have taught for many years and whose skaters have achieved many awards through competitions These same coaches will be teaching CAN SKATE and will be available for private lessons if preferred Being members of the Georgetown Figure Skating Club also gives the parents an opportu nity to be involved as finishing in first and second respectively The Dodgers won all three of their playoff games and he Yankees posted a record to advance to Ibe championship game Sunday at the Fair The game was very
