Dave I thank you for the encouraging article about Bob Morrow In last weeks paper I had beard or nun and his cancer and have been Interested In knowing how he is We wish him well If you are planning to write again during cancer month would you please tell people that each cancer Is a different ballgame I too have cancer and am taking chemotherapy The treatments have not affected me too severely no vomit ting I so far at least I have gained weight rather than lost it as Bob has Perhaps that is a result of enjoying all the treats that friends provided My hair has thinned but not gone so Iget tired more easily than I like but I am thankful to have many more up days than down The cancer volunteers are super people The drivers that take us to Princess Margaret and wait for us so patiently are the best The staff at PMH are friendly and helpful and even fellow patients are more inclined to visit and encourage than In other public places Family friends and even acquaintances are so Important in helping us In so many ways that It is impossible to thank each one Often the ones that do a kindness dont know just how much a word or deed is as it may have been done on a down day when we dont respond as well as we like Even cancers that dont have a good cure expectation are able to be beaten New drugs are being developed and even the experimental treatments are a posit ive factor after all If the experts thought he experiment wouldnt work they would change the experiment Of course I hope that my experiment is successful but while I wait he time passes quickly there is always much to do and enjoy This Is much longer than planned but please tell your readers that chemotherapy is not always debilitating a positive attitude is good medicine people want to help and most of all Cancer Can Be Beaten Thank Jean Barton PS You might also remind tojhlnk of the patients family as cancer is often hard for the others to bear Participants wanted for heritage parade Dears This an open
