than an anniversary It will be celebrating a long social tradition In the past people for miles around came to Georgctownandlhesur rounding hamlets not just for trade and commerce but for dances church functl oris fall fair political and fraternal meetings and of course the soda of the various well known hotels Recreating the days of our ancestors Pioneer Days 19S4 will feature a big Street Dance on Friday even Music for the dance will be provided by the popular Jeff Barry Band of Erin and Jeff himself recalls being brought to Georgetown for a street dance when he was about 10 years old In the tradition of everybo dy has been Invited to participate In the dance including grandma and the Being observed on June and Pioneer Days is held each year in downtown Georgetown with a variety of Business in Georgetown is a celebration of Ontario s bicentennial and Georgetown s birthday Monday members of the Chambers promotions committee further unveiled plans for the three day event in June Entertainment booth displays a souvenir coin and an extravagant birthday party have all been meticulously planned It shows what our Chamber is capable of when they work together to promote the town and the business com munity Halton Hills is rich with stories of long time citizens who have seen the changes in the community To the people and businesses who forged out a part of our past we owe a great debt Activities such as Pioneer Days in downtown Georgetown Ciderfest m downtown Acton and now the BIG Celebration will all have bicentennial themes The Optimist Bang O Rama and the annual Tail
