Until Dark which opens April 19 The play has its share of villains excee dingly undesirable characters in the guise of Mike and Carlino Ron Kill Tim Jennings and John Day respect torment a young woman who has recently became blind Ron Hill as lite rally makes the skin crawl Allhisearlystage of rehearsal he is completely terrifying even in Improvised sur roundings Ron Hill has been asso ciated with the theatre for over forty years and is a founding member of the He has been nominated twice as Best Actor once as best Supporting Actor and once as Best Director He directed last production Busybody Elliott Theatre you would have been appointed The Felix Banjo Palace Band members wore white shoes white pants and white ruffled tops And the music that came out of their shiny instruments wasn all hillbilly The four man band played a mix of music from the sentimental and mushy to rock and roll Of course Jug band tunes also got their turn Filled to capacity the theatre was mostly packed with Rotary Club members out for a fun night The band had been Invited as part of the Clubs 30th anniversary celebration Like a leprechaun band leader Felix seemed to charm his audience They enthusiastically agreed to sing oink or meow or bow wow on cue and often spontaneous or clapped along The band couldn have asked for a more warm or responsive audience They even laughed at his between songs palter of humor Mr told them he docs a lot of talking between songs and l go zip zip zip through his like some other Lntertalncrs but that easy for them to do because they know a lot mure songs Columnist Another study has been done to prove that women earn less money than men Instead of spending money on countless studies to prove the obvious why not take those funds and raise a few female salaries Nothing brings home the fact that this Is an unfair world faster than watching a news item about starvation in Ethiopia which is sponsored by a diet soft drink commercial showing already slender folk exercising their little hearts out to lose an ounce or two Have you noticed that in this country the poor of course pay little or no tax as is only right But the rich seem to have that same privilege I don mind subsidizing the poor but I balk at paying more than some wealthy entrepreneur who has a battery of accountants to discover loop hole heaven Do you realize that at one time the mother who had to work outside of the home was pitied or thought to be selfish Now Just the reverse seems true It strange how thought processes change Children seem to automatically inherit genetically the raits you have that you do not care for The ones you would love to pass along seem to get lost along the way None of your children pick up your luxuriously curly hair but they all end
