for is responsible for Acton having its own Red Cross branch as one of his many accomplishments in community service Among Red Cross volunteers who work with Henry he is known as someone always willing to help others out said President of Acton Red Cross Fritz De Haan When the decision was made to name Henry Kroes Citizen of the Year on June 4 he was preparing to leave for Grand Valley to assist tornado victims Henry Kroes arrived in Canada from the Netherlands in 1950 He has lived 30 of his years m Acton And many of those 30 years have been spent volunteering his lime HENRY KROES Among his credits are coaching hockey and soccer and acting as a cadet counsellor Christ Reform Church His most Important work as a volunteer Is being the motivator for the establish ment of a Red Cross branch in Acton Mr Kroes began his service to the Red Cross in 1971 when Acton was part of the Georgetown branch Mary was a coworker of Henry during those early years She said that in 1979 Mr announced his goal to make Acton a branch Mr said I want to moke this a branch Will all of you go along with me Seven members who attended that meeting Diabetes meeting The Brampton and District
