to E C and left with a 3714 win The visitors led 104 at half Craig had points for the winners while Margie Parker chipped in with 10 The Georgetown SlowPilch team defeated the Elks and in playoff action recently Saturday league members got together at the Masonic Temple near Trafalgar Road and Highway for an awards celebra tion The Kinsmen and Shaws Trophies won pennants for winning their divisi on titles Special trophies were given to the Elks who were rumiersup and the champions from Shaws About 12S people attended the celebration which Included a dance his season The senior squad evened its record at two wins two losses with a win over E C Thursday Boo had points for Ihe winners while Judy Thomson and Lee Ann Johnson both chipped in with 12 points each The seniors will attend hill in Kitchener and Georgetown outdistanced rival ONoil Collegiate of by 11 points for the title The Rebels took top Honors in the overall boys class over by points and were second in the girls junior boys also topped their category as Jeff Amnio finished ninth Individually in Teammate Dave Paul was right behind in 10th while Greg McKenzle was 12th Brendan Cleary was 2232 Other finishers for the Rebels were 32nd Paul Mark Lamb Bath Terry Dixon Peter Ramsay 145h and Richard Vanderwal 134th The senior boys squad finished second overall despite Rebel Erik Hopkins winning the senior race in Mike Wood finished 15th in the man field 2522 while Jim Clark was 2608 Other finishers Include Brian Brian llanman and Alan Bray No results for llie girls were available Acton High School also in Milton Monday the Resources team displayed a third period effort to gain a 32 victory With only three seconds left In the game Kevin Patrick notched the game winner from Steve Wright Other goals for Georgetown were scored by Steve Wright and Kevin Patrick assist ed by Brad and Jake Mashln- Strong opening Georgetown North Sports Major Novice hockey team opened their season in strong fashion lest week with victories over Milton and boro by scores of 31 and 53 On Thursday night Milton who are expec ted to be their chief rivals for the County crown came to town for the season opener The North Sports squad started slowly and fell behind midway through first period Strong goaltendlng by Steve and Jeff and stout defensive work by the pairs Gavin Gloser and Mike Kotsos and Jamie Stephenson and Brent Wilkinson held Milton scoreless the rest of the way Georgetown pressed throughout the second and Into the third period and finally were rewarded when Doug Sheppard scored on a fine effort the assist going to Closer In the final minute of the game scored again this time assisted by David Bousktli Sheppard completed the hat trick into the empty net to ensure the outcome with hockey Friday October at the Arthur arena Paul Allison Kerry Kuenzlg and Karl Meyer connected for single markers for the Royals While Greg Leslec replied for Arthur The game evened the Royals exhibition record at one win and one loss and averaged their earlier defeat to the Tigers opens the regular season this weekend with a pair of games On Saturday October the Royals play host to 81s and then on Sunday they travel to Exeter to play the Mohawks ROYALTIESBrad Miller has signed with Hoop scores The Georgetown Ladle Basketball League began another season last week with Capri corns and
