vacation 1983 will be the thrill or a lifetime for these lucky and 13 adults accompany ing them Over the lost few years George town Minor Hockey has hosted three different Swedish teams during the December holiday This was so so interesting and so success many parents felt they would like their sons to have a similar chance Last April of the three local teams that expressed an Interest in this venture a minor bantam team was given official approval Coach Bob manager Harvey Green selected the group that would ent Georgetown In European hockey Adam Bennett Scott Complon Jeremy Travis Gardiner Curtis Green Doruiie Guest Cameron Herman Doug Kent Stephen Lee Doug Greg Onoprljenko Eddie Powers Brent Presswood Matt Remedies Kevin Roe Daryl Chris Stoddart Steven Sutherland Bill Tutt and Stuart Vogt The other official members of the team are Wayne Pries President of Georgetown Minor Hockey and Rick Morphew the repre sentative of O A As soon as the Sweden Bound team was formed fund raising went into selling hundreds of boxes of vitafilm and aluminum foil Belling the hundreds of draw tickets on a new car and selling a ton cheese in one pound packages Who could forget the fun or Monte Carlo Night and the Fifties Dance No one can deny these boys worked hard for the trip But all this has passed What lies ahead On Dec the Georgetown contingent wit be boarding a flight for New York and then on to Stockholm There Ihe boys will be billeted with Swedish families and will no doubt be anticipating a myriad of new experien ces Sweden Bound will be participa ting in an international hockey tournament right in Stockholm as well as playing several exhibition games arranged by the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation but there will still be lots of time for sightseeing and shopping Before leaving his Swedish home away from home each boy will be presenting his host and hostess with a beautiful Eskimo carving hand craft ed in Baffin Island as a token of friendship The next stop will be a two day sightseeing tour of Copenhagen Denmark end then back home The players and parents of Sweden Bound would like to express sincere appreciation to the corporate si and to the Georgetown residents for
