Sunday evening March on TV network The title is a parody of Tom Wolfe book The Right Stuff which was turned into a moderately interesting the American The Real Stuff produced and dl reeled by John is an absorb ing look at the Snowbirds Canada world famous Jet acrobatic team cot some Invaluable help from a fine team of tors coproducers second unit rectors all of whom receive well earned credit at end Of the pro gram But most visible help came from pop composer David best known perhaps for his work also with on Tears Are Enough Foster provided the music for The Heal Stuff and also served as on camera host for the pro gram I like most about The Real Stuff Is not the stunningly beautiful aerial photography although that certainly laudable but the fact that the show high quality was achieved without the kind of spe cial effects that have become so com In presentday TV and films and Foster set out to give us a closeup look at the nine Canadl who make up the Snowbirds and they had enough confidence In their subject lo avoid the sort of gimmickry that so easily could have turned this program into yet another dreary ex ample of the triumph of style over content It gratifying also to see
