quel to the first movie established Eddie Murphy as one of Hollywood most bankable stars I say fairly as I round some flews in the film although I enjoyed it The movie takes Axel back to Beverly Hills to investigate the shooting of his friend Andrew Cox a police lieutenant he met on his first visit Axel quick teams up with old pals BOlv Rosewood and John to find out who is behind the Alphabet Crimes Its very cosy with nil buddies reuniting- The Hills is a mess as a captain has fired everyone except Rosewood and Bogomil and these three are imminent danger of losing their jobs Axel comes down and proceeds shooting club and every other nook and cranny imaginable including he Playboy Mansion In the first movie this seemed fresher Foley was an unusual and brash character Since then there have been ao many imitations of this style both In television and movies that Axel cons just seem too outlandish and unconvincing I was getting a bit bored w him after the first hour I found the movie general seemed a Utile tired not as carefully crafted as the first not that It was an award winning plot and it gave me a sense of vu much of the time That to say that it funny it is But the writers have decided to give us more Insight into Rosewood Judge Relnbold and John the cops thai apparently protect ly Hills The were before now they have been reduced to cartoon figures has left him for the tenth time as to Rosewood hes n plan with a complex lie it guns in a BIG Come off plcast I bet it took the writers all of two seconds come up with Ihesc I think the wr Airedale could have come up more original don know if the writers have Airedales but I da and they arc not dogs I like both Reinhold and I think they deserved parts than this The plpt is negligible just an ex for cons and car chases There arc a lot of car chases and a lot of wrecked cars You have to natch yourself when you leave the theatre there is a strong urge to run every car in the parking lot just because they re there The bad guy Is Maxwell played by Prochnou another cardboard character Ho is assisted by a trigger six foot blonde moll Nielsen It seems to me that lis Nielsen is also Sly Stallones wife What a sen filiating intellectual couple must make Despite these glaring drawbacks this is a funnv film You won t regret seeing it It just not very ing on any level Oh well I guess that what summer movies are about This is a restricted f 1m with coarse language and violence Car toon variety v of course GEORGETOWN SPA FITNESS CENTRE CELEBRATE CANADA DAY THE GLEN WILLIAMS WAY Wednesday July 1st 1987 A Day of
