The bluesy sounds of Led may have passed forever with the death of drummer John Bonham but a young local band is doing their best their own touch to the music White Summer t had play in the Toronto bar circuit since its inception in but the last six months has produced a marked change In their fortunes Lead guitarist Dave of Ac ton is looking for an outlet to market the vast of music written over the past five years so the band now pursuing a record deal Dave guides White Sum mcr through music with tils lead guitar work and backing vocals His brother Adrinno plays Ihe drums while Misslssauga s Dean McNeil is the lead singer Ken Anderson plays Ihe bass guitar and helps with bucking vocals The newest addition to the band keyboard and saxophone player Paul has expanded the bands sound Hilled as a the band mixes its bluesy hard rock edge with Zcp music A good keyboard player added to lineup just over a month ago is Just what White Summer needed to round out its sound says guitarist We re noted as Canada top Led Zepplin tribute Mr says white Summer serves up a collec tion of their own music and some cover songs in Ihe first set adding in a variety of cover songs in the se cond set leading up to their tribute to 70s rock band The quintet all In their early offers an evening of heavier music sometimes tamed slower songs such as Zcpplin All of My Love and Robert Plant Hills Is approach The mall strike has slowed returns of some donations and there is a lack of canvassers to cover all residential routes In Georgetown and Acton Mr says We know the community supports the United Way its Red Cross partners and 17 member agencies but people might not sec the needs We need to make sure our message gels to the people and they support us with their dona The United Way has set up a Demonstration and Development Fund to bring new agencies on board and to help Fund onetime special projects To ensure that everyone in Hnlton Hills has the chance of donate the United Way
