it The murder in Brampton last week of a 19yearold guy really threw me Brampton It on our doorstep location wise This bust city is in the heart of suburbia It should feel as secure as going home So when a police officer friend suggested I talk about Patrick Healy viciously stabbed in an ap parently unprovoked attack I obliged Straight out of high school and sitting in his Dodge Charger with a girlfriend chatting at a local park Patrick was killed stabbed at least three tunes in the rib area Most of us have been to parks at night Being 19 years old was not so long ago for me and sitting in a car with a friend is not an unlikely scenario But in Brampton lives were changed forever A young girl witnessed a murder And a mother who tried to revive her son as he hovered near deaths door failed in a piteous attempt the boy was already dying when his girlfriend drove him home What a memory for a mother to have of her son And what a burden to put on a teenage girl who will forever live
