servic ed Bruce Hayward a Georgetown resident who has recently sold bis home and purchased a house from Fembrook Homes on the west side of Mountainview Road appeared before council Monday to ask for their help They Homes were selling homes In areas which havent been approved for homes said Mr Many of the people who have bought the homes live in Georgetown he added What has happened according to town deputy planner Bruce Homes purchased lots on the west side of Mountain- view Road from the developer Halton Hills Village Homes Fem brook began selling homes in the summer In the late fall Hills Village Homes changed the phasing of the lots for the second time Because of servicing limita tions the firm is allowed a total of 510 homes The rephasing in the fall switched most of the homes to be serviced from the west side of the road to the east side Now only homes on the west side can be serviced But brook has sold 114 homes on the west side The developers had submitted a plan to preservice two parcels of land on the west side of the road totalling 137 lots Now the developers want a third parcel of land containing 100 lots of which 60 have been sold the other were sold in the first two parcels to be preserviced as well What that will do is make all 114 people who have purchased homes eligible to have their homes servic ed On Monday the town agreed and asked Region to allow the of all homes on the west side of the road a course of action normally against Halton policy according to Mayor Miller normally allows only to homes eligi ble for services in this case only homes Even if the Region agrees to all 237 homes only of the homes can be fully serviced and built leaving 21 homeowners out in the cold The rest of the homes can be serviced in a few years after some major water projects are completed by the town Mayor Miller said the fault for the fiasco doesnt lie with the town The developer has known for many years he had lots the mayor said I feel terrible about this but in no way is the town responsible for whats taken place he said I feel weve been hung out and well look like the bad guy Mr Hayward said the town should have checked into how many homes had been sold and where before it approved phasinginthefall It is up to the developer Halton Hills Village Homes and the builders Fembrook Homes to keep their lines of communication open said Mr Tuesday The town is not privy to private dealings between developers builders and homeowners Mayor Miller said Turner begins town hall talks In keeping with his promise to stay in close touch with the peo ple of the
