Century 21 Major Atoms defeat Dundas and tie second place 22 At Memorial Arena the Century fresh from a win and a tie with played a spirited Dundas club While Dundas was few in numbers the team played well and held the local squad to six goals David Boere and David Kotsos led the local scoring Kotsos scored two goals and earned assist while Boere assisted on three Georgetown goals Scott Truman had two goals on fine second effort rebounds Brad Spears and Marc Boucher each scored once- Spean and Scott earned assists ot Bouchers goal Thorn earned an assist on Scott Trumans first goal In Orangeville the local team met a skilled defensive opponent The game was highlighted by tight checking and solid by bothgoalers David Pearson made many dif ficult saves opened the scoring but a goal shoot at Georgetown pulled out all the stops for the last two minutes and with the goalie out of the net and six attackers on the ice our chances for a tie looked good but both Davidson and Beavan two apiece Oakville again took the lead with two goals and local Georgetown supporters became concerned as the checking tightened and time began to run out A goal by David Kotsos assisted by Kevin and Andrew ignited the Century 21 club and the team began to take the play away from their opponents assumed a defensive mode as Georgetown began to storm then- net A tenacious goal by captain Brad Spears finally evened the score with less than a minute re maining in the game Time ran out with the Century 21 squad resum ing their aggressive attack on the Oakville net All members of the major atom team are to be commended for their determined effort in gaining the tie Georgetown Century Major Atoms recently challenged first- place Milton in their home arena and threw a scare into the lead leaders Although they controlled the game and outplayed Milton a pair of penalties late in the game allowed Milton to tie the game and score the winning goal with less than a minute to play in the tough TriCounty action While they lost 32 the local team served notice that they are ready for the playoffs Brad Spears and Scott Lahey scored for the Century 21 team both on solo efforts After their loss to Milton the Major Atoms rallied and defeated a scrappy club 73 at Memorial Arena David Kalbarski led the Century Atoms earning four points two goals and two assists followed by David Kotsos with two
