THE HERALD Wednesday February 8 Black Machines lose close series McNallys lose showdown By Herald Special After beating Construc tion all season Streetsville figured to breeze through their three game playoff match against Georgetown Our boys on the other hand decided it was time to pull together and play some tough hockey McNallys adrenaline was flow ing when they stepped on the ice and even parents had learned some new cheers which seemed to keep the team in motion On command to rev up your black machines Robert MacLeod put it in gear and fired one by Streetsvilles goalie to give Georgetown the early lead Robert Ace and Eager Beaver Smith put it in third on more W occasion but seemed to hit a barrier and were robbed on a few nice shots Streetsville broke out of the slow lane and took a 31 lead Proving Georgetowns no quit ter with one man on a pit stop in the penalty box Robert MacLeod turned on the gas again and spun one in Streetsvilles net Maddog Mike Madill and David once again took their job digging along the boards very seriously and came up with some nice passes Defensively Jeff Bahr Richardson Joey Goodhew and Jeff Telford put Streetsville into a few tailspins at our blueline When this defen sive quartet charges up not much gets by them The old saying The kids hot tonight was written for Joey Barber that night as he made no mistakes in net Dan Cabral and Trevor Rich tried a few times to put it in passing gear and out maneuvre goalie but couldnt seem to connect Once- again as though fired on jet power Robert MacLeod banged another by Streetsvilles goalie for a hat trick tying the game and putting us into a overtime period Jeff and Mike Krause certainly didnt take a backseat to as they worked hard and played well throughout the game Again the Red Baron Robert MacLeod came through for his team flying end to end to score his fourth goal and give Georgetown the win The second game in Georgetown was also a close game but Streetsville came to win Keeping their best players all over Robert MacLeod made it tough for him to connect Dan and Eager Beaver Ryan Smith were certainly knocking on Streetsvilles backdoor but couldnt find the key for a goal Finding the key Trevor Rich wasted no time in using it to score Georgetowns lone goal Chris Hall was no push over in net As usual he played tough and made some nice saves but Streetsville had the
