tailend of a twoman advantage Oakville tied it up with less than two minutes left in the period as John Duff beat Todd King after the Raider defence failed to clear the Mahoney with a clear shot on King The veteran Raider backstop kicked out the shot but John Duff was on the edge of the crease awaiting a rebound which he fired home for the winning tally OAKVILLE RAIDER 5 Oakville took a 32 lead after the first period of Thursdays series- opener with Kevin Dance and J La tour scoring for Georgetown The Blades went up on a powerplay after Trent Cull was penalized for leaving the penalty box too early after a previous In fraction A goalmouth scramble produced Georgetowns third goal as Chuck beat Williams and 30 seconds later the Raiders looked to be shaking Oakvilles blanket checking as Cruise beat Williams with a high shot But again took the lead on a breakaway goal by Chris Krbavac before Kevin Dance answered also on a breakaway to leave things knotted at with one period left buzzsaw checking left Georgetown completely out the cold in the third frame however as Peter Romeo drilled a slapper past Curtis Green at the 38second mark That score stood with Oakville adding an at 19 56 as the Raiders tried in vain to gain the equalizer Period three saw the two teams trade a pair of goals each Loreto with both for Georgetown and head into a lominute regulation overtime period after the third Georgetown drew first blood with Des Brown surprising Williams with a well placed low slapshot from the which went in along the ice on Williams glove side Todd King making his first start since undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery three weeks ago made a couple of nice stops before managed to tie it with seconds left in the period as Bryan Morgan drilled a slapshot home after the Blades pulled Williams and won a faceoff in the Georgetown end Some exciting end play and some big stops by both goaltenders highlighted the first nine minutes of the sudden death overtime But perhaps enough for third spot in a fiveway competition at Mansfield while Milton Heights Greens also placed third after totalling 238 points at a similar playoff at Craig Jeff Kunze of Milton and Marc Hoewing of Norval were the top local boys at Mansfield as they finished fourth and fifth respec Marc Cornwall of Burl ington took Jennifer Burlington finished seventh among the girls while Angela Fitzsimons of Georgetown took loth and Mary Anne Doyle of Oakville earned 14th Alpine Ski Club took top honors overall at Mansfield with points and Oshawa finished just ahead of thirdplace Milton Heights with 318 Lakefield Col lege School was fourth with 260 points and Hockley Valley pulled up the rear with At Craig Leith Milton Heights Greens were led by the ninth- place finish of Hoewmg Michelle Sutherland of Georgetown was and Debbie of Mississauga took 20th On the boys side Ian Vice of Burlington was 13th Jason Hobbs of Burlington was 15th and Mike West was 16th Hidden Valley Reds were gold medalists overall on the day with a total of points Horseshoe Valley Stallions were second at with Milton Heights in third with 238 Cedar Highlands 227 and Mansfield Bronze 196 rounded out the field
