25 and 30 per cent of the municipal waste stream The Ministry of Environment and an engineering firm hired by Halton to examine its waste disposal services say the Region should be aiming for the 25per cent recycling target as early as 1992 In its submission to the Con solidated Board hearings looking into the Regional landfill issue recently Halton set a 16percent recycling goal up to the year This year with the new recycl ing plant in operating and blue box recycling programs in full swing in all four municipalities Halton expects to recycle 16 per cent of the municipal waste stream
