finals of the Youth doubles with their respective part ners first three darts of the day produced a maximum score and eventually- the lad and partner finished in eighth place overall Scutt went a stage or two better reaching the final itself before going down finishing run ner up is not a bad achievement when in your first year of darts and there are several good youngsters around One player shot 14 max imums in the day amongst 95 throws of over Another Town couple Iiad a successful day in the mixed adult doubles recall Gary and Anne Nicholson netting 14th place in the ScuttPenfold parents coming in 11th spot Time Out I have unofficially clin ched the Halton division league first place in defeating Copper Ket tle by the full score The clinching game came in the last singles set Regrettably the Kettle player up was unable to attend due to illness and the game went by default I will refrain from naming the lucky Time Out player During the match Joe Cairns shot 180 to leave his doubles partner seven to finish just as well Cairns came up again to finish 1 will not mention his later three high score Beau Beau- and Pete Pickering as well as Ray Catney of Kettle shot 140s Second place I won over Time Out The match look ed as though it may prove a little shock with the singles going to but the home team won all the rest of the sets for the win Ian McDonald fired a maximum John Reyce and Randy Hunt scored 140 and McDonald also shot 134 In reply Tony Morrows shot 153 and Vic 140 and 134 Hollywoods Terry Kouyoumjian shot two and Rick Harden shot one as the Tavern shot their way to a 131 victory over McGibbon The girls point came in the last singles game with Karen- Buckley defeating Mark Hollywood are now tied in points with McGibbon I at 227 in the se cond place Meanwhile and Brackens had another of their monumental struggles before the visiting Brackens came out on top by 86 The singles were evenly split then the doubles to set up the fighting finish It was not to be as Brackens took both sets for the win The division teams are apparent ly content with the team make up and do not wish to break up the top teams players There is a little sup port for changing the player801 format A prominent league member does not think it likely that there will be any changes in the B divisions of which Halton is one However the league and division would welcome some new members and attempt to make two divisions in this area Not to mention a girls division and perhaps a youth division with somewhere suitable for play High Rollers on Wednesday in the Industrial League took the first two games from Snowjacks Hustlers the first after a close scoring game It looked ominous for the league leaders at this junc ture The third went to Hustlers the next to Rollers and we were set for the finish Hustlers took four in a row and the last two were split to give Hustlers a fortunate win by the odd game It is looking more and more likely that Snowjacks Hustlers will retain first place through until the end of league play Cairns had six starts and Ron Scarlett three finishes Beau Beau mont closed out to go with his 140 and 100 In reply Hunter Carroll began mightily and deadly on doubles he had two starts and three finishes Derek Hedley shot 140 and Stan Mathews came in with three starts Westenders held on to second place with a result over Ensigns
