FiveThird Line location say the proposed industry is too large and could rob local wells of water They would like to see the town refuse a zoning change for Manswood Park It is presently a rural lot containing an abandoned house and a decrepit barn Residents attended a public meeting of Hills general committee Monday night to voice I their concerns Dave Kiddle a Manswood resi dent said he doesnt want the town I to approve the huge centre I feel its much too large it I could take a considerable amount of water to operate he said Another resident Jack Crawford was concerned that with rural land surrounding the site local farmers could be faced with waste water flowing into the creek behind the property Fanners use this creek regularly he said Jim Archdekin who also lives near the proposed plumbing site said a recent application to a a piece of land similar to the Manswood Industrial Park site was rejected Different considerations are being used for similar applica tlons said Mr Crawford But the town planners assured that a proper study would be con ducted before a ruling on the site is reached Patrick Sweet a representative of Manswood Industrial Park said the studies were done to the satisfaction of the Regional health unit He added that further water tests would be made but that the land was for dry industrial use and that the plant is really just an assembly plant
