Page THE HERALD Wednesday April 19 Homosexuals rights decision damaging to marriage status Dear Sir The decision of the Human Rights Commission to regard homosexual couples as having the same rights as married couples is the latest blow on the institution of marriage and on the legal status of marned couples This is only the last of a series of liberal sions by the Canadian magistrates a whole generation of judges appointed in the Trudeau years and by the con and populist govern ment In addition the effec tiveness of the courts is reduced by the hundreds of civil suits which swamped the system since the Charter of Rights was signed in 1982 On Apr 14 an Ontario judge granted Dr and in tenm injunction forbidding sit ins in front of his abortion mill Years ago Dr Morgentaler found a loophole the system a jury and a sym pathetic Ontario attorney general Now this same radical activist is seeking protection from the same system he so skillfully deceived The police are thus forced to pro tect his deadly operation while the pro life peaceful demonstrators who try to save human lives risk jail sentences no jury tnal is allowed for them When the society collapses under the weight of corruption as Socrates warned the price of controlled liberalism is the fastest means of pro pagating the AIDS virus drug abuse as demonstrated by the epidemic of cocaine addiction and free extra maYital sex The last which sounds so appealing to the youth is the direct cause of venereal diseases of many womens problems initiated by the pill of infections of physical and moral damages and finally the primary cause of repeated induced abortions Abor tion which has been regarded for thousands of years as a horrible crime is the measure of lack of moral sensitivity of our society the final act of egoism motivated by pleasure the killing of another human life for the sake of ones own freedom When society collapses to these levels do the people have to sue cumb to these trends Are these a measure of progress or a measure of corruption History demonstrates that human systems and societies have recovered from corruption through violent means such as civil wars and reactionary regimes One would believe that to days Canada is civilized enough not to fall to those extremes I will believe this only when I will see you opening your eyes and reac ting actively to corruption before it is too late Giuseppe Family Coalition Party North Riding Association Thanks to Garth EDITORS NOTE The following letter to HaltonPeel MP Garth Turner was filed with the Herald for publication Dear Garth Re Canada Post and rural post of Just a brief note to thank you very much for your recent in terventioa on behalf of the people of Alton Cheltenham Caledon and Ingtanod whose post offices have been closed at because of an order by Post management This to hate taken effect April JO completely defied logic not only shutting down these post offices during one of the busiest times of the day but not promising a single benefit Not one penny would have been saved and revenue would surely have vanish ed I hope you will also continue to help in the fight to stop the systematic dismantling of the rural post office system It never fails to astound me that Canada Post is trying to close and convert read depreciate rural post of when for many decades they have served small town Canadians well with surprisingly few com plaints And the total cost by com parison to free delivery in urban centres is very reasonable especially now that Canada Post is operating pro fitably Why not strengthen the rural post office system allow it to reach for more revenue with the addition of fax service photocopy ing etc rather than letting It fall by the wayside making it easy prey for privatization Rural Canadians deserve better Yours sincerely Liz Armstrong Rural Dignity of Canada Ontario Erin GEORGETOWN SPA FITNESS CENTRE EXCLUSIVELY YOURS birthday birthday as extended to Art May
