yearend banquet One hundred and sixty five players coaches managers and executive members gathered to hand out the hardware to some most deserving individuals and teams Rick Hume and John Knight top ped the list as winners of the rep coach and rep manager of the year awards respectively Hume won the Pearce Family Trophy for his coaching prowess and Knight took home the Hume Family Trophy for his managerial work The Paul Memorial Trophy for the Most Valuable midget player as selected by his teammates went to Sunny Acres Project Playground exceeds 6000 mark The campaign trail for playground equipment in the Glen Williams Park is coming to an end After 15 months of various fun we have exceeded 6 There are so many people to thank for their generous support donations and time We are so for tunate to have such a beautiful park here in the Glen two baseball diamonds hiking trail family pic area and the Credit River The playground equipment will com the setting On June we will be making good use of the two baseball diamonds Project Playground has recruited volunteers from Glen Williams Minor Ball Glen Old Timers Glen Town Hall Board and community and the Recreation and Parks Department to help host a twoday double knockout fun Slo Pitch Tournament at Glen Williams Park This tournament is purely for fun and all proceeds from the weekend will go towards the purchase of play equipment The new playground equipment will be set up so kids come out and put it to good use The entry fee is 125 per team and we are looking at teams At least four ladies will be on the field at all times minimum players maximum 15 players and three pitch lob ball Whether you come out and play ball or cheer the teams on yon and your families will be guaranteed a good time and also contributing to
