P G Bell goes back to work Striking P G Bell workers went back to work Wednesday after voting in favor of a new contract The over 50 steel workers at the Armstrong Avenue plant were striking under the banner of the In Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers They walked off the job five weeks ago after rejec ting the companys offer in mid- April But Tuesday night Bell workers voted to settle object to new trailer park at Nor Halton 28 PAGES By DONNA KELL Herald Staff Residents near Nor Halton Park objected strongly to a proposal for a 30trailer residence put forward by the parks owners Merv and Doris Barber who own a seasonal trailer park on Regional Road southwest of Acton put a proposal forward to the Town of Hills asking for rezomng to allow a mobile home park Residents at the Willow Park trailer park in were told to leave their premises by the Credit Valley Conservation Authority because the property lies in a flood November is the deadline date for the park evacuation But at a public meeting held in the town chambers Tuesday local neighbors objected to the proposed land use at Nor Park You cannot take 60 acres of land and fill it with wall towall people said nearby resident Em my Lehn Mrs Lehn said there were no trees and no privacy fencing on the property She also expressed con cerns about water and a septic tile field to service the property If this proposal is passed we hold the Town of Halton Hills responsible for spoiling the water she said One nearby resident said she is also concerned with water but also fears vandalism She said she has two dogs valued at which she wants to protect Im scared Im by myself and Im afraid Im going to have trou ble with my water said Christine But a resident at the Willow Park said there is no reason to be mobile homes are an option to skyrocketing rental prices in Georgetown Mobile homes are a good stepping stone to get into housing he said This proposal in Nor Park is a small solution to the larger problem of affordable housing in Ontario said Mr Town councillors will review the application for a permanent trailer park in Nor Halton Park and will consider objections from area residents But until
