program is co- hosted by the Region Con servation Authority and the Four Seasons Anglers and Hunters Club of Milton Any disabled adult or child may register for the event There are no entrance fees and com plimentary refreshments will be served by the Optimist Club of Milton The Burns Conservation Area is a quiet natural area that has been developed for hiking pic nicking and fishing The small Town gives advice on liquor permits The Town of Halton Hills Recreation and Parks Depart ment along with a local law firm presented an evening workshop on special occasion permits at the Halton Hills Cultural Centre Wednesday night Those who paid to attend heard from John E Schaljo from the law firm Kogon and Schaljo and Rankin manager of education and com munication with the Liquor Licenc ing Board of Ontario LLBO There was a chance to ask ques tions and presentations were given on obtaining steps for a special oc casion permit the rules and regulations of the permit special rules for volunteer organizations civil liabilities risk reduction strategies and knowing how much alcohol is too much Those invited to attend the even ing included ball owners and operators facility managers and employees bartenders and anyone who sponsors a special oc casion or volunteers to work at a licenced event pond located at the area is spring fed and provides some great trout fishing following approval of additional funding from the Ontario Heritage Foun dation In the awarded 30000 to the Ministry of Natural Resources Maple District to undertake the first phase of the project The recent grant of will enable completion this summer Forks of the Credit Provincial Park is one of over public located on the Niagara Escarpment from Heights to the recently created Fathom Five National Marine Park at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula The park includes mature forests rolling meadows and scenic escarpment cliffs Its most prominent feature is the Credit River which cascades past the re mains of an historic mill and power dam The new viewing platforms will be adjacent to the Bruce Trail along the crest of the escarp ment offering visitors spec tacular views of the waterfalls and Credit River Valley Inter pretive signs located on the plat forms will highlight the special natural and historical features of the area The Ontario Heritage tion is an agency of the Ministry of Culture and Communications It administers Ontarios Niagara Escarpment Trust Fund in co operation with the Ministry of Natural Resources the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and the Niagara Escarpment
