a good position to review Star Trek V The Final Frontier I haven seen any of the previous movies nor was I ever a fan of the television show Therefore I dont feel equipped to do a proper job of this Star Trek V has William Shatner directing and setting the story line t think a major mistake has been made there I have never thought much of Shatner as an actor and his directing and writing skills seem to fall below his acting abilities This is not a good sign The Final Frontier is a place where no man has gone before boldly or otherwise It is Supposed to be Eden Kirk Bones and Spock are held captive on the Enterprise while a visionary Vulcan leads the crew into the impossible frontier I think it was the centre of the earth but I cant remember anymore Its been over 12 hours There is more to the plot than this but to tell you the truth I dont see the point of it let alone the point of repeating it here Suffice to say it is kind of jumbled and silly and not in the least bit intriguing It involves rebel Klingons a false god and a faulty Enterprise It bores me to even think of it now Star Trek V lags terribly through the first hour The pace is uneven generally far too slow and the plot hues so obvious it is shameful Although the second half picks up somewhat its certainly not enough to save the show Too many things are ihtroduced without be ing followed up and that is MOVIES frustrating David Warner an ex cellent actor is on screen for only a few minutes and that is a tern waste of talent The movie is generally tongue- incheek which is a good thing since the plot is so stupid I guess for those who care about the characters it is probably satisfying to see them again I cant say the same for myself And the acting is so broad so hammy at times that you cant take these people seriously anyway Laurence is the guest star as Sybok the rebel read emotional Ive already mentioned the Vulcan special effects are ridiculously cant really recommend Star amateurish This movie
