Guernsey Con ference provided a major breakthrough in universal co operation toward the development of the Guernsey cow retaining her unique characteristics of milk quality temperament and attrac tive appearance while making ef forts to increase her size and pro ductive capability Delegates from England Wales Australia Guernsey and the United States attended this unusual conference In the World Guernsey Federation was formed during a World Guernsey Conference in Australia and Lloyd Balsdon of Ontario was named the first president of this federa tion In July more than 20 years after the first Guernsey con ference the World Guernsey Con ference will once again be held in Canada This conference will see delegates from all over the world in attendance Beginning July conference delegates will take part in a cross- Canada tour visiting progressive Guernsey breeding operations in C Alberta Ontario Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island While in Ontario the actual con ference will be held in Waterloo Ontario on July 10 and 11 The theme for this conference is Marketing and Management Strategies for the 1990s and speakers from various countries will present their views on this topic An complaints council opens Halton customers disgruntled with Canada Posts service can voice their opinions to a recently formed customer service council Halton Regional councillors heard last week that the Postal Service Customer Council of Canada was set up to review com plaints from customers in the greater metropolitan Toronto area including Halton Paul Palleschi of Brampton ap peared before Haiton Regional council to say that the York branch of the customer postal council would serve several regions It encompasses all of Metropolitan Toronto plus the outlaying areas said customer council Regional Co Belzile We were there at Halton Region to let people know that we exist The council will deal only with policies as approved before the council was formed in April of this year The customer council will handle complaints about any level of postal service One common com plaint said Ms involves the super mail boxes used in some urban areas Were not getting involved in labor relations issues or any inter issues she said but added that the implementation of previous postal plans would be con sidered Milton Coun Bill Johnson ex pressed concerns that the super mail boxes make it difficult for those in wheelchairs to access But responding to the councillor at last weeks Regional meeting Mr said the customer coun cil cannot make those decisions Complants handled through the customer council must first have been sent to Canada Post for response If no response or an in adequate response is reached the customer council will review the complaint Although the postal
