29 at 30 m Lynda NORVALKay and Carol Acton enjoyed a 10- day trip to Alaska and the Yukon recently They flew to Vancouver on Aug and took the boat trip with passengers a crew of 580 and 58 cooks They tative Art Bennett former assis tant agricultural representativ and Ross Fair Congratulations to Karen Swackhammer Acton who is Dairy Princess Karen competed last Saturday evening at the CNE and made a good showing was not fortunate enough to be me of the two winners Alaska A cruise on the Lynn Canal was a highlight A motor coach tour through the mountains to Skagway where they stayed for two nights after which they board ed the Yukon Railway and went through the White Pass to the little town of Fraser The last leg of their trip was by motor coach to Whitehorse in the Yukon Following a couple of days and nights here with tours etc they bade a fond farewell to the mountains lakes and rivers they had enjoyed so much and flew back to Pearson International Air port trip Wilson Norval and Elliott of Sau- ble Beach formerly of Norval spent a week earlier in August visiting with daughter in Yellowknife in the North West Ter ritories Cape Cod visit NORVALBill and Mae Brander RR2 friends all set for a party to celebrate their 25th wedding an niversary with corsages waiting for them Fortyfive guests overflowed the house to the patio and the children enjoyed the pool Ron and Joans two sons were in on the plans for the surprise party David and Rob received the guests and assisted in the arrangements A delicious buffet supper was followed by the happy couple open ing their gifts and cards with the highlight being the reading of poems composed by those atten ding the party Guests were present from Inger- soil Bowmanville Tweed Cam bridge Norval and Brampton Special good wishes were sent from New Tweed Sault Ste Marie and Pic- ton The surprise party was held a couple of weeks early before the teenagers and children went back to school so Ron and Joan were completely
