Dairy Princess on Tues day evening Aug at the CNE Lynda represented Peel County as Dairy Princess and competed with four other princesses who had all won first in the preliminary competition She then competed in the semi finals before qualifying for the finals Dairy princesses from coun ties competed on three evenings and from these winners in the semifinals five were chosen for the final competition Princesses from the counties of Renfrew Peel Lennox and York and Prescott gave prepared speeches on Give the job to Milk They also answered an impromptu question on the Milk Marketing Industry and each had to milk a cow An exten sive interview with each princess was held earlier in the day This is Lyndas second con secutive year as Peel County Dairy Princess and she will be taking a year off from Guelph University in a course on World Development Studies Lynda will be working out of her home at RR4 to promote the Dairy Industry for the Ontario Milk Marketing Board and will be attending many events throughout the province over the next year Among her many prizes were a Guernsey Heifer calf a Pontiac Grand AM car for a year a silver tea service a trip to England a set of luggage a clock a Bulova watch a bill and many more lovely prizes Lynda is the daughter of Roy and Heather Thompson of Georgetown Her parents t and brothers David and Alan operate a dairy farm specializing in cattle Lyndas sister Amy and her husband Doug Miller operate the Miller Farm at recognition of Kel ly Stewarts achievement as Miss CNE Milton Fair Directors are holding Open House on
