dials with as apply ti minor and parents might well advised to know litest rulisrx on officials decisions The following rules apply only to Minor Hockey Rule 24 Protective Equipment White on the Ice all players Including goalkeepers shall wear a CSA approved hockey helmet to which a CSA approved facial protector must be securely attached and not altered n any way Any alteration to a approved helmet or facial protector automatically destroys the certification The chin strap the helmet shall be property fastened under the chin The straps of the facial protector shall also be property fastened to the hockey helmet d If the Referees attention is drawn to the possibility that a facial protector or helmet may not be certified approved or If the Referee observesthatafaclal protector or helmet may not be certified and should that piece of equipment In effect turn out not to be certified the Referee shall assess a Minor penalty and at the same time order that Illegal piece of equipment removed from the game Note 1 The Referee is empowered to make the call with out his attention being drawn by an opposing player or team official through the Captain Note TheReterees Case Book contains detailed proce to follow In the case of a player having to serve a penalty for a certified helmet or facial protector Rule 30 Major Penalties e In Minor Hockey Including who is assessed a Major penalty under Rule 59 Fighting and Roughing shall be assessed In addition a Game duct penalty The Major penalty shall be served by any player of his team who was on the Ice at the time of the Infraction Such player shall be deslgnatea by the Manager or Coach of the penalized team through the Captain This Includes the cases where a player has been assessed a Major penalty for roughing Rule 31 Misconduct Penalties d In Minor Hockey In the last minutes of a game regular playing time Including overtime any playerorteam official who is assessedaGame Misconduct Misconduct shall automatically be suspended for a minimum of the next regular league or play off game Rule 40 Appointment of Officials 0 For Inter branch playoff games only Level certified Referees shall be appointed but for National Champion ships and designated 1 1 H F competition the Referee shall be a certified Level VI Referee This does not sarily apply to Minor Hockey Rule Abuse of Officials and Other Misconduct g Note In Minor Hockey where a team official has been assessed a Misconduct penalty no player shall be required to go and serve that Misconduct on the penalty bench Rule SO b Boarding and Body Checking In divisions of Atom and below a Minor penalty shall be assessed any player who in the opinion of the Referee intentionally body checks bumps shoves or pushes any opposing player When the attacking player is skating towards the defending player the defending player has the right to maintain his position Inthlscase the attacking player must avert body contact Riding off a player is permitted as
