sites from the escarpment might be approved but local group POWER appeared before Halton Hills councillors Monday to show support for the proposed change POWER Protect Our Water and Environmental Resources the group opposed to putting a landfill site in the Acton quarry near Limehouse prompted an amend ment to the Niagara Escarpment Plan when POWER member John Minns appeared before the Niagara Escarpment Commission back in February The Town of Halton Hills sup ported POWERS motion at that time Barbara Halsall from POWER spoke at the Civic Centre Monday night to reaffirm POWERS com mitment to banning landfill from the escarpment The Niagara Escarpment is a natural rock and land formation spreading about kilometres from Niagara to Tober mory Mrs Halsall said Landfill sites on the
