letter in con with the traffic problems front of the Georgetown District High School between the hours of 8 am Sam The reason for our concern is as taxi drivers we are responsible for transporting students safely to and from the high school every day and must go through the headache of getting in and out of the school Some of our complaints are as follows The entrance and exit is set up backwards therefore the students must open their door into traffic leaving the school passenger door opens into driveway instead of school entrance Most students are in a hurry and don always look plus we also transport nan students who must walk around the car 2 Most parents just stop in the middle of Highway 7 to drop students off without indicating their intentions to do so This causes a chain reaction of hard breaking for everyone caught in this traffic jam We feel that the able bodied students should be dropped off on Maple Avenue This would relieve a lot of traffic con gestion on Highway after all this is a highway and is well travelled in the times mentioned above Cars parked in front of the school that block the entrance for drop off and pick up for students Parking in this driveway should not be allowed unless in marked parking areas Students who take a taxi should be prompt and waiting out front not call hen go to their locker This way we are not park ed out front and blocking the dnveway We would appreciate if you would relay our concerns to your student body and their parents and perhaps we could solve the traffic problem in front of GDHS Yours sincerely The have over the crosswalk at Mountainview Road South and Sinclair Avenue here Georgetown My six yearold goes to St Fran cis of School and as we live on Rofid South he must cross at this intersection This worries me The traffic using South has increased and as there are no stop signs or lights between Campbell Gate and Delrex Boulevard cars speed Also the number of trucks using this portion of Mountainview has increased The crosswalk itself is in a poor spot There is a large tree with low hanging branches that obstruct visibility for both cars and cross children There are usually vehicles parked close to the road on the boulevard land sometimes there are parked cars on the road itself just a few feet from the white lines of the crosswalk Yes there is a crossing guard and yes my son there stop sign hand I have seen cars come to a screeching stop inches from the white lines and I have seen children not using the properly All of these factors point to a potential accident and I do not want the victim to be my son All I ask is to have someone in vestigate this situation and to look carefully at this intersection I believe we need lights or a stop sign at Mountainview and
