unfortunately was the burden borne by the Georgetown District High School Rebels junior football team Wednesday as they lost a squeaker 1614 to Milton Mustangs in a game played at GDHS field Cool and windy weather dictated running offenses by both teams and the Mustangs large offensive linemen controlled the line of scrimmage allowing the MUton squads runners to pound up the middle for considerable yardage throughout the game The Mustangs dominant running game also thwarted a lategame rally by the Rebels as time ran out The loss drops the Rebels record to 2 but coach Fred Kotanl felt his team played well considering the Mustangs rolled into Georgetown sporting a undefeated record The first quarter ended with the game knotted as both teams scored on their respective opening Milton moved in front 166 at the half as the relentless pounding up the middle took its toll on the Rebels defensive line Minor Atoms swamp Ching By DAVE BEA VAN Herald Special Georgetown Minor Atoms got their regular season off to a great start on Monday night with a 70 thrashing of Chinguacousy At the four minute mark of the first period defenceman Andrew Beavan hit Trevor Rich with a pass up the middle Trevor was checked at the Chinguacousy blueline but Shane Thompson swooped in from left defence and fired a hard shot over the net minders left shoulder The rest of the period was scoreless as the Georgetown defence of Thompson Steven Smith and Michael Crawford threw a net around their goalie Kevin Huminiskl When Chinguacousy did break through Kevin made one great save after another In- the second period Curtis Hoogendam took the puck from the opening scooted around the defence and slid a low backhand shot just inside the post Two minutes later Thompson took a pass from Trevor Rich a 0 lead after two frames Any hopes had for a comeback were dashed one minute into the final period when Thompson went end to end to com plete his hat trick To this point In the game rookie Trevor Brampton etc So the times are changing just lawyers The movement is no longer within the town Itself making life easy for the lawyers but from outside the boundaries to GeorgetownActon and from here to even smaller pic turesque towns in other areas Now the lawyers are running from one Office to another hence expect larger bills if you are one who wants to move outside of Halton Hills We as sales representatives have been aware of this movement for some time now but it is certainly more apparent in recent months than ever before There are lots of reasons for this change but pro bably the most often heard reason is the need for people to get out of the hustle and bustle of the larger centres to towns that have a sense of community and identity It is easy to get lost in the larger cities and towns and I think that lots of families are finding that the smaller towns have a lot to offer family life Naturally there is always the cost factor Our prices are certainly a lot less than the homes in- greater Metro and yet we have the advantage of being able to get to the big ci in fairly short order certainly a plus for the commuter and the folks that like city life For those who are moving out of the town and I have personally moved many families over the fast few years it is usually a deeper sense of getting back to even smaller towns put ting in roots In communities where they can still find an identity and some of them finding that being mortgage free is awfully tempting So as I drove through the hills my mind was filled with many thoughts for this Thanksgiving weekend but most of alii was mighty thankful for living in such a beautiful pari of the country where I was close to the wonders of Nature knowing my family have roots that are here in the community that I love
