Percy King He joined Branch 120 in December 1945 on his return from the Second World War Percy served with the Lome Scots and Toronto Scottish Regiments in Britain France and Germany An active member of the Branch until his failing health necessitated his admission to the Veterans Wing of Sunnybrook Hospital Our sympathy goes out to his family and friends at this distressing time Poppy Chairman United Way of Halton Hills the Georgetown and District Red Cross branch depends on a successful United Way campaign so that we may continue to provide quality services to the residents of this community Thanks to your United Way donation to last years campaign the Georgetown and District Red Cross was able to collect units of blood give aid to 24 residents with food and shelter when personal misfortune fell upon them made 161 round trips to outof town medical appointments 97 of these were for our seniors loan out 241 articles of sickroom equipment to help those people remain in their homes either after surgery or shortterm illness of these articles were for our seniors hold fitness classes for our seniors in three of the senior cen tres In our community have 100 trained team members on standby ready to organize hundreds more volunteers in case of a major disaster in the town of Hills teach youngsters swimm ing lessons in the Georgetown and Acton pools When Canadians want to help abroad as they did with Hurricane Gilbert and the Armenian earth quake they turn to our local Red Cross branch for assistance Red Cross programs and vices in our community depend on public support Give generously to our 1989 United Way campaign and when help is needed whether in our community or around the world the Red Cross will be there If you contribute to the United Way by a
