Williams Town Hall Board and our annual general meeting will be held Nov to elect a new board During the past year we have with the aid of the rats and donations from Halton Hills Recreation Department maintain ed the ice rink in the ball park for as long as weather permitted Spr ing is celebrated by our annual shrub sale with the generous help of Sheridan Nurseries This year we were pleased to offer a small token of our great appreciation by donating a Shendan Nurseries sign on the Glen Williams town list across from Prestons store at Main and Confederation As a charitable organization the town hall was able to assist in sup porting the play group and we were especially pleased that the community was able to acquire long needed playground equipment for the ball park As usual supported Canada Diy and this year it was held in the ball park with an emphasis on a family environment This event which was a great success is due to the efforts of a small group of people from the community who physically give their time for six months leading up to the event From time to time e have organized various activities for the community however our most popular continues to be the childrens Christmas ith free of charge presents and enter tainment for Glen residents children The hall is rented by many groups often and for company or private parties The revenue from these events maintains the town hall and contributes financial to our schedule of events Many projects remain for Glen residents A parkette on the nor thwest comer of Main and Con federation Streets has been under negotiation and development for over two years Time has been spent in negotiations with the town and after a September council meeting it appears that a village garden will finally come to frui tion in 1990 The corner plot will be turned into a place for all residents and guests to enjoy Many people from the Halton Recreation Department Sheridan Nurseries Computer group The Hills Computer Users Group will hold their mon thly meeting on Monday Oct 30 at at the home of Bob Johnston 29 Drive Georgetown The club meets the last Monday of each month to discuss topics of common interest to users of personal computers This months meeting will feature a presentation by John Kerr of Real Time Image Digitizing the process of taking a from a video source TV or VCR and putting
