the House Rockers will be hosting weekly jam sessions starting this Sunday at in Georgetown from to pm And Mr Pinto hopes people of all ages will take ad vantage of the live entertain ment Ive had this idea for a long time and have approached several bars in and around the area and Kaspers went for it Mr Pinto said Kaspers is an ideal venue for this type of family entertain ment Mr Pinto says because it has a restaurant license He also stresses that there is no cover Little Joe and the House Rockers will start off each ses sion with a couple or sets The band will play a selection of music ranging from Muddy Waters type blues to Jerry Lee Lewis rock roll style music he said The band is Joe on vocals and harmonica Lou Pinto on drums and vocals Lorraine Ingel on electric piano Donnay Ray on- bass and vocals and Scot Hut chinson on electric and steel guitar Guests will be invited on stage to jam away the rest of the night This coming Sunday the guests will be Toronto musician Ray Elliot who has played with Van Morrison and Duane Eddy Doreen Smith who recently sang at the SkyDome and local musi cians Mr Pinto is optimistic the jam sessions will be popular especial ly for those over years old Frank Black to be honored at Cultural Centre By BETTY ANNE Herald Special The immortal spirit of Georgetowns grand old man of the arts Frank Black will be spotlighted with a special show of the late artists work in the gallery of the Hills Library- Cultural Centre next month A selection of some of Frank Blacks finest paintings will be exhibited and sold in the LibraryCultural Centre gallery Nov through Nov 19 with a presentation and memorial evening planned for the opening on Wednesday Nov A veteran of the First World War Frank Black died in May 1988 at the age of leaving behind a legacy of paintings and drawings completed over a period of 70 years During the opening his widow Lillian Black will present a large collection of work and papers to the town in memory of the late artist Many of the items included in the memorial bequest will be on display Various local dignitaries have been invited to at tend when it is expected Mayor Russell Miller will officially accept the bequest on behalf of the town The show Immortal Spirit paintings by the late Frank C Black will hang in the gallery un til Nov 19 and can be viewed dur ing regular library winter operating hours for Regional coun cil is to get public opinion on the reconstruction of Hungry Hollow A public meeting is scheduled to be held Nov 14 between pm and 8 pm at the Halton Hills Civic Cen tre on Maple Avenue Mr McCann said he hopes the turnout for the next public meeting surpasses the numbers at the last meeting Wed like to get some public comment back Weve had two meetings so far hut they have not been particularly wellattended he said Councillors heard that heavy trucks must speed down the hill at Hungry Hollow to get back up the bill Coiin Serjeantson said they are going down the hill at
