Sabres have a light schedule in MidOntario Junior Hockey League play this week but the team deserves a break in view of the clubs most re cent successes The Sabres were scheduled to take on Caledon last night Fri day in a home encounter at Acton Community Centre at press time the score was not available However leading into the Friday night clash with Caledon the Sabres had gone undefeated in three consecutive games According to league statistics the sixpoint splurge moved Acton into fifth place in league standing with 14 points but of more im portance within hailing distance of second games this season Georgetown had a win and a tie so a little over- confidence was to be expected after Curtis Hoogendam gave the home side a lead in the first period Assists went to Shane Thompson and Sam Butt In the second period Georgetown abandoned their pass ing game and it was every man for himself The result was a deficit at the end of the period With only four minutes left in the game Shane Thompson abandon ed his and used his wrist shot to score two brilliant unassisted goals to get Georgetown back in the game Just when it looked like the boys might salvage a tie a long shot took a lucky bounce and eluded Scott Herbert in goal to give Burl- ington the victory Saturday afternoon Nov Georgetown took their minislump of two straight tosses into the un friendly confines of Miltons Thompson Arena The last time these two teams met Milton embarrassed us so revenge was definitely on the minds of the visitors Milton took the lead with a left in the open ing period but only nine seconds later Brad Kouyoumjian banged home a rebound from a shot by Brad Davidson Then with only one second left in the opening frame Trevor Rich found the puck on his stick with the open net in front of him after Shane Thompson had zipped a shot off the Unbelievably Georgetown held a lead after one period Over the next minutes Milton gave our side a lesson in teamwork as they passed the puck
