in the early going of the first game Stewarttown had a golden op portunity to upset Centennial by holding a first game 1410 lead Perhaps the harrowing vision of an upset woke up the Centennial girls as they rallied to win the first game 1614 The loss seemed to deflate the Stingers and Centennial was never really threatened in winning the second game to clinch the North Halton title CENTENNIAL further tournament action when the Rebels lost to eventual tourna ment champion Stratford 156 and 15 final match Naturally said don like tc lose an time however I felt out boys played to their potential and overall I m ex treniel pleased with the season we had ieel number ranking provincial ijjustified The season was described as a personally la it coached the Rebels volleyball team We maximized what we had noted McKay Our guys came to play and there was a tremendous amount of team spirit and team togetherness throughout the year What more can a coach ask f or McKay didnt dwell on the fact that he team lost an experienced starter when power hitter Jim Lawrence was declared ineligible for competition just prior to the GHAC tournament Maybe we felt the loss of Jim Lawrence more in the match against George S Henry than at any other time He had experience had was a solid powerhitter Something you need going against a team of the calibre of G S Henry However pointed out McKay John Cruise filled in admirably for Lawrence so who is to say what affect his absence really had on the team It is expected that McKay will return next year to coach the Rebels but the squad will undergo quite a facelift Seven players have been lost to graduation including Andreas and Phil Rehberg Mark Mumaghan Sean Cotton Coleman David Leslie and Travis Gardner Returning veterans include Jim Lawrence Mike Bosman Pete Gombozs John Cruise John Jickl- and Nick Varncchio Despite this major turnover McKay is looking forward to next ear We have a solid nucleus to build on and good character players to ease the newcomers into the sstem Well just have to see what happens MOBILE SOUND SYSTEMS STEREO SYSTEMS ACCESSORIES HOME AUTOMOTIVE TAPES COS Sates Service 8771688 RUG CO LTD SAVINGS SALES
