like books or pictures but more like socks see how easy we are to please Have a happy and safe holiday Downhill skiing lessons offered For the 12th season in row the Halton Hills Recreation and Parks mil be offering Downhill Skiing lessons with the Glen Eden Ski Area Each year Glen Eden tries to upgrade their facilities and snow abilities Last when most of southern Ontario had virtually lit tie or no snow Glen Eden was able to operate right through to the end of March Glen Eden Ski Area in Milton is spending million on new facilities and equipment for the 198990 ski season These expen are part of Glen Eden s development plans that in 1987 with the installation of a new tnple chairlift and ski run This next major phase of development involves the installa tion of a new computerized snowmaking system and a new ski run A new Bombardier BR400 plus grooming vehicle is also being pur chased for the upcoming season These additions to Glen Eden s facilities will provide more snow more hill space and better groom ed ski slopes than ever before The new snowmaking system which was designed and engineered Delta Engineering of Ottawa includes a new building to house the main physical plant two new CFM high efficiency rotarv screw air compressors two new GOO GPM vertical turbine water pumps a computerized monitoring system an on hill weather station and pipeline sion This svstem will greatly expand on the previous snowmaking capabilities allowing earlier opening for skiing in December and will help guarantee good snow coverage for the Christmas Break and the rest of the ski season The new Lover s Lane ski run will open up skiing under the ex Twister Both night lighting and snowmgking are being installed on this intermediate run to permit good day and night skiing all season long The new BR plus grooming vehicle is a state of the art version of the previous groomer which will allow Glen Eden to enhance its reputation for well groomed slopes Glen Eden Ski Area is owned and operated by the Halton Region Conservation The new equipment and facilities are being purchased using monies drawn from the reserve funds deIoped through the successful operation of the ski area Glen Eden is committed to pro viding a good skiing experience for the public and improvements for the season are proof of that commitment Construction is well under way at the ski area and staff anticipate being ready to start making snow by the first week of December The ski lesson program being of fered by our Halton Hills Recrea and Parks Department com Saturday Jan and runs for eight weeks Bus pick up tions include the Gordon Alcott Arena and Smith Middle School Classes are one hour in length and are conducted by well trained and qualified instructors The time outside of the
