Halton Hills be renamed Dublin Line The recommended name change was proposed so that local police and fire departments are no longer confused between the First Line in Halton Hills and the First Line in Milton In support of the name change town Mayor Miller said the name Dublin has been part of Hills history for the past years The recommendation will go before council this day The town general commit tee is comprised of the town coun Santa parade Georgetown Lions Club is ex pected to hold its Annual Santa Parade Nov The town s general committee recommend Monday that the service club be permitted to run the parade from the Moore Park Plaza star ting at The parade will then proceed south along Mam Street to Maple Avenue to Street to Mountainview Road to Campbell Gate and through the Georgetown Market Place The recommendation will go before council this Monday for final approval User fees proposed Town councillors consider a staff recommendation calling for the elimination of town special pick up days for large waste items such as refrigerators during the upcoming budget deliberations The Town s Manager of Operations Ted Drelow presented councillors with a report Monday during a general committee meeting stating that the service will have to be eliminated next year if the projected per cent urban tax rate increase is to be reduced Town staff is proposing that the special pick up service only be provided next year to those will to pay a user fee of between and per item requested to be collected The mayor warned the user fee shouldn t be too high so that people are encouraged to dump large waste items in the rural area Parking restrictions In response to concerns ex pressed by Kingham Road residents in Acton over available on street parking town general committee recommended day that a maximum hour parking at anytime limit on the south side of Kingham Road bet ween Greenmore Crescent and metres east of this location be imposed As well the committee meeting recommended A public meeting concerning a development proposal for a four unit street complex on Church Street in Acton was recommended by the tow general committee Monday For construction to No date for the public mecling was given Granny flats recommended Halton Hills General Commit tee recommend a Monday that the possibility of the town permit ting granny flats as a pilot pro ject be considered as part of the town review of its housing in tcnsification study Currently granny flats are not permitted the town Town planner Bruce Maclean told committee members this is a valid type of recognized as a willing host for an Energy from Waste plant by the Greater Toronto Area He argued the town could not make such a request because the question of EFW plants is a Regional matter He did
