Solicitor General Mike announced Friday that Halton Regional Police is receiv ing for overtime costs of the I Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere program for the 199091 year We consider it money well spent says the Solicitor General RIDE is a proven successful community policing initiative which assists significantly in deterring ltn paired drivers This funding has allowed many municipal police a meeting Wednesday between herself Town of Halton Hills Mayor Russ Miller provin Ministry of Housing representative Will Ferguson Bill Chard assistant to local MPP Noel she is hopeful a solution can be found Ms Croft explained the ministry of housing represen tative indicated the province s first priority is to get the residents an extension A suggestion was also made the meeting that an sion could perhaps be granted on condition the residents sign a waiver eliminating the and the Town from any liability if a severe flood does stnke the area said Ms Croft Mr Ferguson is now consider ing the Willow Park issue in its entirety and when he has done that another meeting will be call ed said Ms Croft At least the province is listen to us she added The residents biggest pro blem if required to vacate the property by May without another park in which to relocate is the financial loss of being unable to resell their mobile homes It s generally acknowledged mobile homes are rendered virtually worthless unless they are sold on a location property The residents had expected they would be permitted to move to a site in Acton but the Ontano Municipal Board recently struck down the proposal Like Ms Croft Mr Chard is hopeful a solution may be found If a viable site could be found in a reasonable amount of time Mr Chard said the province may be willing to fast track the ap plication so that relocation could take place within a reasonable amount of time Mr Chard said he is looking into the viability of a site on the Line in Hills Asked if he thought an exten sion may be
