series about the rise of communi ty protest groups in Ontario The series begins airing this coming Tuesday at 600 and 1100 pm Field producer of the documen tary Bob said Georgetown has a high number of activists willing to go out and pro test for what they want Georgetown is typical of other small communities where over the last five years people have started to get involved and make their opinions known he said We hope with the documentary to give the viewer a flare for local politics how the system works and how people protest We hope it will explain why people are pro testing now uphold the provinces Retail Business Holidays Act grocery stores in Halton Hills will be forc ed to close their doors on Sun days Local grocery stores and other businesses have been permitted to remain open Sundays since last June after the Supreme Court of Ontario ruled the RBHA to be unconstitutional Before that decision charges were laid against these stores if they open ed Sundays In response to the Supreme Courts decision last June the province filed an appeal with the Ontario Court of Appeal At that time the province also requested that the Supreme Court prevent stores from opening Sunday until the appeal had been heard That request was denied allowing stores to stay open Sundays until now MPP Noel Duignan said during a telephone interview Wednesday he is both pleased
