mittee recommended Monday the province should hold a hear ing in connection with an applica tion by Georgetowns Transfer Station to increase the capacity of garbage it handles The transfer station currently handles garbage originating in Hills and Milton It has ap plied to the province to handle garbage from anywhere in On tario The province will make the final decision on the ap plication but meant to finish this work but was unable after falling into financial trouble in April The subdivision agreement in cluded a letter of credit for so the town could take over the work However the staff report indicates the work will cost more than provided for in the letter of credit Council decided the tree plan ting wasnt essential to the sub division so that expense of was cut from the work the Town would do Councillor Anne said Monday the general taxpayer will have to cover the amount not covered by the letter of credit For this reason council decided to only cover the essentials she said Mr Stephen said a request for tree planting might seem like a small issue but if councillors understood the aggravation the residents have experienced they would understand the reason in making the
