The public was invited to check out vendors, raffle tables, baked goods and silent auction items while the club's talented skaters had the chance to show off their favourite routines. The event also included a public skate with Santa and a Battle of the Blades. Photos by Andrea Lefebvre What Is Your Community Doing For You? Obviously a tremendous amount amount. By Paul C. Armstrong Residents are attracted to this community for what it offers. The number of families leaving this area to better themselves is minimal. Activities are abundant be it cultural, recreational, educational or serving in a service club or church. It's all here. The value and richness of any town come from its people. Younger and older people can share their talents and participate in all programmes offered. All it takes is interest and effort. The opportunities here are second to no other town. To keep what we have, it requires nurturing. To expand requires planning. Without good people, caring and concern diminishes and our town weakens. Let's prevent this from happening by being ever vigilant in what makes a community and keeps it strong. What can we each do to maintain the positiveness and viability of our community? How can we continue to build a safe and productive environment for our families and our children's children? Now is a good time to make a new year's resolution to participate, give and buy generously for a prosperous community. It will surely be good for all of us and keep our town the way we expect and want it to be. Be proud of your community. Buy locally, Buy from us. R YOU THE INSURANCE HOUSE PAUL C.
