16 Independent & Free Press,Thursday, January 21, 2010 First Class 20th Anniversary Reunion Show ENTERTAINMENT CD of local songwriters to raise funds for Acton's food bank Local songwriters are being asked to send in mp3s of their original music to be compiled into a CD, with proceeds to Acton Foodshare food bank. The CD will be a chance for residents to support their local music scene and food bank at the same time. Like any town in the past year, Acton has seen some challenging times. The food bank has watched its usage increase and its costs rise. The hope for this CD fundraiser is that it will stimulate local music while helping out with the food bank's rising expenses. Any songwriter from the area who has recorded original material can submit up to three mp3s to tim@truemusicproductions.com. Tracks for the CD will be chosen by a panel of judges including: · local music producer Tim Alberts · Roxy concert promoter Kellen Wiersma · Acton Foodshare chair Arlene Humphreys. The deadline for submissions is February 26. A CD release concert will be held at the Roxy at 6 Mill St. E. in Acton on April 17 and the CD will be available both at the concert and at various local stores and businesses. It will sell for $10 with proceeds going directly to the Acton Foodshare For more information contact True Music Productions at 905-702-7470.
