BUSINESS 35 Independent & Free Press, Thursday, March 11, 2010 Sheridan Nurseries makes wishes come true For the third straight year, Sheridan Nurseries' head office in Georgetown will be making an ailing youngster's wish come true with another sizeable donation to the Children's Wish Foundation. The company's Round Up For Wishes fundraising campaign encouraged customers at its nine GTA locations to support Children's Wish by contributing a few cents more when making in-store purchases. "Some people say, `Please add $20 to my bill.' We've had a great response from the public," said Karl Stensson, president of Sheridan Nurseries, pictured at left. The average cost of one of the children's wishes is $10,000 and over the past three years Sheridan Nurseries has collected over $50,000 for the charitable organization. Also in the photo are Frances Makdessian (centre), regional development specialist for Children's Wish, and Valerie Stensson, vice president, marketing & purchasing for Sheridan Nurseries.
