The company's Round Up For Wishes fundraising campaign encouraged customers at its nine GTA locations to support Children's Wish by contributing a few cents more when making in-store purchases. "Some people say, `Please add $20 to my bill.' We've had a great response from the public," said Karl Stensson, president of Sheridan Nurseries, pictured at left. The average cost of one of the children's wishes is $10,000 and over the past three years Sheridan Nurseries has collected over $50,000 for the charitable organization. Centennial Public School in Georgetown was selected as one of the schools to receive $2,000 to acquire reading and audio materials for the school's classrooms and library in order to accommodate the wide range of student reading abilities.
